I base my philosophy of education on the Great Commission. I have been called by Christ to teach the Gospel to children. My goal is to bring the message of salvation to life for my students. I try to utilize many different techniques- puppets, play acting; flannel graph, songs, and fingerplays- to make the stories of the Bible come to life.
Jesus permeates everything we do in the classroom. In science lessons we talk about how God created and sustains life on our planet. In songs we sing praise and learn of God’s love and compassion for us. As we start the day with devotions and prayer we lay the foundation that God is here with us as we work and play. We have prayer to open our day, before snack, after Jesus time and before we go home. Our daily project centers on our theme for the week, or our weekly Bible lesson. In Centers children are encouraged to work together to solve problems, share love, and figure out what Jesus would want them to do.
