"If you cannot speak like angels, If you cannot preach like Paul, You can tell the love of Jesus, You can say He died for all. If you cannot rouse the wicked With the Judgement's dread alarms, YOU CAN LEAD THE LITTLE CHILDREN TO THE SAVIOR'S WAITING ARMS." Verse 2 of Hark! the Voice of Jesus Crying TLH 496
I have sung this song for over 30 years, and the 2nd verse always tugged at my heart strings. Still does! This verse really describes me and my calling to be a Lutheran teacher. I thank God every day for all the dedicated Christian teachers I had in elementary school, high school, and even college. I pray that I can make that kind of an impact on my students and help them become well-rounded Christians.
In Kindergarten, we start with the most basic, but the most important message that I'll ever teach. I can sum it up with another song...YES, JESUS LOVES ME...THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO! In all that we learn in Kindergarten, we make God the center of it. Whether we are learning about bears, bugs, or even frogs, we'll learn that God created EVERYTHING! What a wonderful God we have who not only made this wonderful world for us, but also sent His one and only Son to be our Savior! We are truly blessed!
