I am committed to an educational philosophy based on Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Col. 2:8). Christian education means Christ is the center to education. My educational theory, methods and practices are built on Christ as my cornerstone. In order for education to be consistently Christian I teach music in the framework of biblical authority. I utilize the Bible directly and indirectly in my teaching. Bringing out the meaning of what we sing in church helps students understand the words of the anthem.
A Christian education is part of Christ’s Great Commission to disciple the nations. The Bible tells parents that they have a moral responsibility before God to bring up their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Eph. 6:4). To disciple means to train and the word instruct means to teach. Education includes both. As a teacher nurturing, instructing, and disciplining students, my central task is to make Disciples of Christ.
